This was the last day of Summer Card Camp 2 and also the day I was waiting for! The color combo I chose & the inspiration piece from Kristina Werner were perfect. I immediately new exactly what i wanted to do. I did have some trouble with the copic coloring - I had never done black & white (with greys) before so it took me a few tries. I love this card. I am so glad this last week of card camp turned out better than week 2!
By the time I made this card for week 2 I was frustrated with the colors & sketches & inspirations. Nothing seemed to be turning out right & I was not inspired . So I quickly threw this card together. Not sure why but I like this card. Definitely not my style or colors but it was simple. I stopped making cards for week 2 after this card and hoped that week 3 would be better.
I really did not like how this card turned out. It may have been better without the inking around the embossing. Also the card warped alot from all the embossing and that really bugs me!
I tried a few new things for this card. I used the first card sketch on this one. This is not my usual style but I really liked it. I used embossing paste with a stencil then sprayed it with different spray inks, I used alcohol ink to color the pearl strand purple, and I also used white instead of using brown to distress.
I really liked Kim Jacksons card today and really wanted to try that card sketch. I think it came out really cute. I love the Line Up stamp by Kira Nichols from Stampotique Originals.

I finally got around to posting the cards I made this week for Summer Card Camp 2. I heat embossed all the dies which was not easy & very messy. I added the stars because when it was done the purple tree made it look like a night scene to me. Even though the card turned out OK, I don't think I will be doing that again.
Yeah ! I finally made a card after work! I did make 3 cards for Summer card camp last week, but I have not posted them yet. I really liked the card sketches this week although the color combo is a little tricky. I came up with this card inspired by Kristina Werners Card today. I used the watercolor technique with Distress Inks for the Baby Cthulhu and the banner.
This card was made for day 5 this week - additional color combos. I used the last color combination. I am finally done making cards for this week. I hope I can keep up with class next week.
This is another 10 minute challenge card inspired by Kristina Werner. This one was actually finished within the 10 minutes!! I like the way this one turned out.
This is the second card I made this weekend for the 10 minute challenge - this one took about 20 min only because I had to wait for the Color Shine to dry & I had to seal it in with fixative because the glimmer rubs off. Also I had only intended to add 1 butterfly but I got color shine on my finger when I was pressing down the flourish so I added 2 more to cover up my fingerprints.
I did not have any energy to make cards after going back to work on Wednesday so I made all my cards for Summer Stamp Camp 2 this weekend. I tried to make a card for day 3 (Wednesday) but it did not look right so I just skipped that day.
This card was for the 10 minute challenge which I went 2 min over only because I had to change the letters that I used. I tried to use die cuts but they looked to small so I changed to Thickers.
I loved the card Joy Taylormade for Stamp Camp 2 so I had to make one myself. Stamps are from Simon says Stamp. Have to go back to work tomorrow, I hope I have the energy to make more cards after work.
My first card today gave me a bit of trouble - but it came out good. I finally got to use my new stamp set from Hero Arts: Stamp Your Story - Brush. The Sentiment and heart are from Lawn Fawn and the heart die is from Greeting Farm. Now I am off to make another card.
First day of Summer Card Camp 2 with Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, and special friends. Good thing I did not have to work today . I spent hours making 2 cards, but it was fun. I really like how they turned out.

Sorry I haven't posted in so long - I don't know where all the time goes, but there never seems to be enough of it. Ive been pretty busy. I went to AnimeNext, (anime convention) last month, where I had a great time & purchased some copic markers. I haven't really had time to play with then that much though. I had a 2 week vacation and I got a lot of household thing accomplished (replaced carpeting, spring cleaning, organizing, yard work, etc.), but no crafting. I even reformatted my hard drive & redid my main computer because it was starting to run slow. I also installed Windows 7 RC on my Laptop - LOVE IT!!(Hope everyone got in on the pre-order for $50) Now I'm back to work and I never feel creative when I come home. I don't feel like doing anything when I get home from work.
Last weekend I went to my local stamping store The Creative Corner where they were having a 5yr anniversary celebration - make & takes, refreshments, & prizes (I won a great Hero Arts stamp) and this weekend I have finally made a couple new videos & I made a card!! I am going to try to keep things a little more simple, I was wasting a lot of time editing my videos, I think that was one of the reasons I stopped making them for a while they just got too complicated & took so much time. I have not even reinstalled any complex video editing software on my computer - so have only very basic editing capabilities right now which is actually so much simpler & faster. I am hoping to do a lot more quick videos about tools, showing techniques & the finished project rather than showing the entire process.

I think that's it - oh wait I also plan on having some Blog Candy for my 40th Birthday on August 4, don't know what yet so stay tuned.
My daughter needed a card for her friends birthday so I decided to make a video while creating it. It is a cute cupcake card I made with a chipboard UPC tag I got off a $1 basket that I bought at Target. The card base is from a package of 8 Thank You cards i got at AC Moore on clearance a while back for $.25 - the glitter was on clearance at walmart for $.75 & the patterned paper was a stampin up hostess level 1 item (free). Don't you just love free & clearance items!
